Son insectos muy peque\u00f1os que miden de 1\/16\" a \u215b\". Tienen cuerpos diminutos y suaves, patas largas y antenas. Aunque suelen ser muy espec\u00edficos de sus plantas hu\u00e9sped y es poco probable que se muevan o se propaguen a otra planta, son perjudiciales para los jardines debido a la forma en que infestar\u00e1n y atacar\u00e1n a las plantas.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Los pulgones suelen atacar los brotes nuevos o, con igual frecuencia, el env\u00e9s de las hojas. Chupan la savia de las plantas para alimentarse y excretan una sustancia transparente y pegajosa parecida al roc\u00edo sobre las hojas. Este roc\u00edo invita a un hongo negro que bloquea la luz solar de las hojas, y su crecimiento tambi\u00e9n es perjudicial para la vida de la planta. A los pulgones les gusta atacar las plantas de parterre, las hortalizas, las rosas, los mirtos, los hibiscos, las pacanas, los robles y las adelfas.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hay algunas formas sencillas de controlar una plaga de pulgones:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Las mariquitas y las crisopas son depredadores naturales de los pulgones. Introd\u00facelos en tu jard\u00edn y la poblaci\u00f3n de pulgones disminuir\u00e1. Para obtener los mejores resultados, sigue cuidadosamente las instrucciones para liberar estos insectos y hazlo en un lugar cerrado, no sea que acabes con m\u00e1s problemas de los que ten\u00edas al principio.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A las hormigas les gusta alimentarse del dulce roc\u00edo que excretan los pulgones. Por eso, a menudo se ve a las hormigas viviendo simbi\u00f3ticamente con los pulgones, cuid\u00e1ndolos y protegi\u00e9ndolos de los depredadores, mientras los pulgones las alimentan con el roc\u00edo.
