Worms
All of our turfgrass farms are on a regular maintenance schedule, including seasonal preventative pesticides. However, sometimes this maintenance schedule is interrupted by weather or other environmental factors. So, there will be rare occasions where some unwanted pests will be in the sod we deliver.
First, not all worms are considered pests. For example, earthworms are very beneficial to your lawn, as they are natural soil aerators. So, finding these in the soil of your yard or on the sod blocks is a major plus!
Grub worms are only considered a problem when you find more than five white grubs per square foot or more. Please take pictures and submit a concern form on the day of delivery if you find more grub worms than this in any of your pallets.
Fall Armyworms are more commonly found in Bermuda varieties, but it is not unheard of to find them in other sod types. These pests are very destructive and will multiply and cause damage very rapidly. Please take pictures and submit a concern form on the day of delivery if you believe you have found even just one armyworm in your pallet(s).
